BACKGROUND // POLITICAL REFUGEES
There are at least 60 million refugee and displaced persons worldwide. And, the world's leading countries aren’t granting enough asylum. In fact it has been left to the poorer countries to host 86% of the global refugee population.
We urged world leaders to take action by 1) increasing the number of refugees that are resettled in their country and 2) speeding up/streamlining their resettlement program to reduce the time it takes to grant asylum.
BACKGROUND // CAN GOLD
The Cannes International Festival of Creativity is easily a week-plus-long exhibition of excess, from the free-flowing rose, to the yachts, to the expensive outfits and the bling — not just that worn on wrists and necks but also in the form of the awards trophies presented to the winners on stage. For an agency to purchase an extra Gold Cannes Lion, for example, they have to fork out about $1,500.
We took a step back from it all and thought, what if you took that money and put it toward something a little more important — like feeding the hungry?
BACKGROUND // CEO IS A JOB, NOT A GENDER
When we noticed searching 'CEO' on Google images turns up only pictures of men, we spent the summer leading a group from the BBH Barn Program to try to break up the stereotype and change the way the world sees CEOs —literally.
We created the #ItsAJobNotAGender Campaign — a single image of today's top female CEOs designed to make its way to the top of Google images, where everyone would find it — because for more women to become CEOs, they need to start seeing themselves there.
While the campaign lived on social, we built a website to house the image, giving people the option to download or share it on their social profiles. The more the image was shared, the higher it went in the Google library — and it's still climbing in the ranks.
